wild at heart.

Documenting those who are too.

Hi! I’m Thomas Horig. Filmmaker, visual storyteller, and remote production specialist based in Australia, working globally. I create poetic, cinematic films that connect people to wild places, honest moments, and the human spirit behind adventure.

My work has taken me to many corners of the earth. From documenting the frozen surf culture of Scotland to a world-record mountaineering attempt in the highlands of Western Papua. I have fast become a trusted cinematographer in some of the planet’s most remote and extreme environments.

  • I spent my early years as a marine scientist and hydrographic surveyor, mapping oceans and working in remote environments across the globe, including time served with the Royal Australian Navy. That background gave me both technical expertise and a deep respect for the natural world, forming the foundation for how I approach visual storytelling today: methodically, deliberately, and with the adaptability to thrive in challenging conditions.

Now specialising in adventure filmmaking, my focus is outdoor documentary, tourism, and ocean culture. Happy to work independently and in collaboration with brands, agencies, and organisations to produce high-end visual content that is grounded, cinematic, and deeply human.

Currently, my production kit is built for field adaptability, shooting primarily on Sony systems, including the FX3 cinema line, A7C II, and A6400 for multi-angle and remote setups. A full focal range of Sony lenses ensures flexibility across environments, from alpine to offshore.

I’m also an RPA-accredited drone operator (<2kg), flying the DJI Mini Pro 4 for agile aerial work. I utilise Salty Surf Housings for professional-grade ocean and surf-based shoots.

All post-production is handled in-house using DaVinci Resolve, with final delivery via Frame.io offering clients a seamless and collaborative review process. Whether working solo or embedded within a larger crew, you will always see the same attention to detail, creative instinct, and problem-solving mindset to every project.

Cine-poems

Cine-Poems are short films that blend cinematic visuals with poetic narration. A unique and emotive way to tell stories that connect on a deeper level.

Each film is written, shot, and edited to reflect the essence of a person, brand, or moment in time. The result is a visual poem: intimate, resonant, and deeply human.

Inspired by the award-winning short film So, Bonnie Land, this format has become the heart of my creative work. A way to honour truth, celebrate identity, and connect through feeling, not formulas.

Whether you’re a business with a story worth telling, a creative capturing your legacy, or an individual wanting to say something real, a Cine-Poem is built to move people.

    • Brands & Businesses who want to tell their story with depth, not jargon

    • Athletes & Artists seeking legacy-style profiles or introspective brand pieces

    • Families & Individuals honouring people, places, or pivotal moments

    • Tourism & Place Marketing wanting to evoke feeling, not just facts

    • A 30 sec to 3 min Cine-Poem short film
